Hi friends! As we’ve talked about before, the very start of the beta will be narrowly focused on catching bugs and getting a mix of technical and design feedback that we can incorporate into the beta going forward. In that spirit, we’ll soon be letting in the first small wave of folks to test a few specific parts of the app at a time.
We’re going to (semi-)randomly invite around 100 testers from among the first signups on the forum. (Semi-randomly because we need to split between iOS and Android and make sure a variety of devices are represented.) Sections and/or features of the app will be turned on for the duration of each test – 24-48 hours or so – and then turned off at the end of the test period. We’ll see what’s working, what’s not, and hear thoughts from our testers before moving on to the next set of sections and/or features.
If you’re chosen, expect an email invitation (with more specific details and instructions) in the first or second week of April. As things progress, we’ll gradually let in more people from the signup lists. Eventually this will get us to an always-on beta that future waves will be invited to.
Thanks to everyone for your patience and willingness to stick it out with us. We’re beyond excited to work with you all in building the byte we’ve all been dreaming of.
