I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I’m being hacked but I got an email saying welcome to byte and telling me to make a password about a week after I made my account on the same email?

Did you try to submit a support request through the Byte online help desk? If so, then that’s why you’re getting that email, it’s coming from Byte’s Zendesk help center. It has nothing to do with the password for the app, because that is managed through your Google account, the Byte app does not store or manage your passwords.
