Lower case "b" for byte

Is there a reason for the lower-case “b” in byte?
Would it be wrong to use an upper-case “B” as in Byte?
In my opinion, ‘Byte’ sounds stronger than ‘byte’ because of the capital letter B.

In my opinion it balances out the byte logo giving the logo a more bolder feel.

Whenever I type the word byte out, my brain registers it as it should be capital B as it is a Proper Noun. Also, imagine writing an essay with the word ‘byte’ in it. Moreover, it makes skimming difficult…lol

But, it does have a stylish flair to it and that’s what most modern tech companies do anyways I guess.

I wonder if using both would be ok. For example, if you look at facebook, the logo has the lower-case “f” but on some parts of the webpage, facebook is spelled with an upper-case “F”
