Whenever you come to visit Austria, be prepared to say “Oachkatzlschwoaf” (which means tail of a squirrel in dialect, proper German would be Eichhörnchenschwanz)

Some other words would be: “Oida”, usage explained here
“Servus” (hello)
“Wie geht’s?” (how are you)
“Tschüss” (Bye)
“Mein Name ist …” (My name is …)
“Byte ist die beste App aller Zeiten” (Byte is the best app of all time)

Feel free to ask if you wanna know any specific German word

You gave me an idea… I just created a byte account called “learngerman” where I’ll try to teach a new German word everyday haha

That’s a great idea :grinning:

I’m Dutch and I say this all the time when I’m saying goodbye to somebody in Dutch, it’s not even a Dutch word.

In The Netherlands we like to say “Hast du mein fahrrad gesehen?” (Have you seen my bicycle?/Heb jij mijn fiets gezien?), and 99% of the time the Germans get mad!

we’ll see

your german is very fluent

ok that “Oida” vid was hilarous. I can’t I ever wanted to learn german but I know there’s a lot of online commnuties surronded on this language. I feel like german is an intersting langauge but not very emotional compared to other languages such as spanish

aren’t germans always mad about something? lol
