I always put milk then cereal, and there are two reasons for this:

  1. If you pour in the milk first, the cereal that is poured in after will float on top and not be immersed within the milk. This is a waste of vital bowl space

  2. When you pour the milk second, you are able to get the perfect ratio of milk to cereal by pouring until the cereal begins to rise slightly
